I took a backpacking trip to Havasu Canyon in Feb 2020 and this book was brought to my attention after I got back. It describes the recent history of the Havasupai people over about a hundred years from the late 1800s through to the late 1900s. Describing their struggles to regain control of their ancestral home. Land they needed to stay alive: as a home, a place to live in the winter, a place to grow crops, a place to raise their animals. Fascinating reading.
